10 Fun & Educational Activities for Kids This Easter (That Won’t Leave You with a Glitter Explosion)

Easter is right around the corner, which means we’re entering peak “bunny and egg everything” season. And if you have kids, you know the drill—sticky fingers from candy, plastic grass EVERYWHERE, and the never-ending quest to keep them entertained without resorting to screen time all day.

Good news, mama: I’ve got you covered! Here are 10 fun (and actually educational) Easter activities that will keep your little ones busy, learning, and—bonus—give you a few minutes to sip your coffee while it’s still warm.

1. Easter Busy Book (a.k.a. Your New Best Friend)

You know those times when you need your kid to be occupied so you can handle life? Our printable Easter Busy Book is here to save the day! It’s packed with matching games, tracing, counting, and puzzles—all with a fun Easter twist. Just print, laminate (or use sheet protectors), and hand it to your little one while you handle all the things. Grab yours here!

2. Egg-Speriment with Colors

Fill cups with water and add different food coloring. Let your kiddo drop in hard-boiled eggs and watch the magic happen. Mix colors to sneak in a little science lesson. (Also, prepare for blue-stained fingers—it’s basically a rite of passage.)

3. Bunny Hop Race

Tape bunny footprints (or just use socks as markers) across the floor and have a hopping race. It’s basically toddler cardio, and by the end, they’ll be the tired ones for once.

4. Easter Counting Game

Grab a muffin tin and number each section. Give your little one jelly beans (or anything small) and have them count out the right number into each spot. Boom—math practice disguised as play!

5. Rescue the Baby Chicks

Freeze small plastic chicks or toys in ice cube trays. Give your kid a spoon, some warm water, and let them “rescue” the chicks. It’s a fine motor skills win, plus it keeps them entertained longer than you’d think.

6. Sensory Bin Surprise

Fill a bin with Easter grass, plastic eggs, and little surprises inside. Let them dig through and find the treasures. (Pro tip: Do this outside unless you enjoy vacuuming fake grass for weeks.)

7. Easter Sticker Patterns

Use stickers to create simple patterns (bunny, egg, bunny, egg…) and have your child continue the sequence. It builds early math skills, and stickers = peace and quiet for at least 10 minutes.

8. Chalk Egg Hunt

If the weather’s nice, draw eggs on the sidewalk and write numbers or letters inside. Have your child find and match them, or jump to the right answer when you call it out. Bonus: No mess inside!

9. Build a Bunny Burrow

Give your little one pillows, blankets, and cardboard boxes to create a cozy “bunny burrow.” They’ll be busy “hopping” in and out while you finally switch that laundry load you’ve been meaning to get to.

10. Easter Scavenger Hunt (with Printables!)

If your kids love treasure hunts (and let’s be honest, who doesn’t?), we’ve got two printable Easter scavenger hunts to make your life easier!

• Picture-Only Hunt – Perfect for toddlers who can’t read yet! They just follow the images to find the next clue.

• Clue-Based Hunt – For older kids who love solving riddles before racing to the next spot!

Just print, hide the clues, and let the Easter fun begin. Grab yours here!
